Transformation Disciplines
Types of Transformation Disciplines
These are defined as any discipline that physically alters the user’s (or in some cases, the victim’s) body. This is not necessarily every power in a discipline, although most transformation disciplines are. The list of transformation disciplines is as follows. Those marked with an asterisk* are defined as complete transformations while all others are considered partial transformations.

Partial transformations are defined as transformation effects that only alter part of the body, while leaving all other features as they were. Complete transformations are defined as transformation effects that subsume all existing features into an entirely new form, which may bear little to no resemblance to the previous form. When activating a partial transformation, all other transformation effects remain in full effect.
Complete transformations are somewhat different. Complete transformation effects are further divided into compatible and incompatible effects. Compatible transformations do not suppress existing transformation effects while they are in use. Incompatible transformations subsume all existing features, actively suppressing their effects for the duration of the incompatible transformation effect. If the power allows, other transformation effects may be reactivated and used while the incompatible power is active, but upon the power’s activation, all currently active effects are suppressed.
The list of compatible and incompatible transformation powers is as follows:

Activating a Transformation Discipline
The following rules for activating a transformation discipline apply universally to all transformation disciplines, superseding any activation text in the power itself, unless contradicted directly in the clarifications of the specific power. This applies equally to Partial and Complete transformations gained from any of the Transformation Disciplines listed above.
Activating a Transformation discipline is considered a reflexive action. However, it does not activate immediately. The effect of any transformation discipline takes a minimum of one full turn to complete, coming into full effect on the user’s Initiative of the turn after the final cost (e.g. blood or Willpower) has been paid. In the case of transformation disciplines without a listed cost, they will come into effect on the user’s Initiative of the turn following the declared activation. While waiting for a Transformation Discipline to activate, the user is free to take other actions as normal, though the process of the physical change is apparent over that duration.
A Transformation Discipline remains active for a maximum duration as listed in the individual power. However (unless specified otherwise) the user can cancel the effect at any time. This is considered a reflexive action and is not considered a use of the discipline in question, but rather a function of the user’s own mind and body. Cancelling an active Transformation Discipline takes one full turn, ending the effect fully on the user’s Initiative of the following turn. Just as with activating a Transformation Discipline, the user is free to take other actions as normal during that turn as permitted by his current form, though the process of the physical change is apparent over that duration.
If a character cancels an active Incompatible Transformation effect (or the duration runs out on the same) that had suppressed one or more other Transformation effects, those transformation effects resume full effectiveness when the Incompatible effect is ended, assuming their own durations have not yet expired.
Carried and worn items will not transform with the user by default, which can cause problems particularly for clothing and armor. Certain effects do allow for items to change with them (Complete Transformations only) as noted in the clarifications for those powers. In the case of any item transforming with the user, the item will be considered subsumed into the new form and non-functional for all purposes whether mystical or mundane (unless specifically noted otherwise in the item’s description). No living or unliving being will ever be considered an item for the purposes of transforming with a character using a Transformation Discipline, nor will any single carried object weighing more than approximately 20 pounds. All worn objects (e.g. armor) will transform if the power allows, though the definition of “worn” will be interpreted very literally and harshly. DO NOT ABUSE THIS.
