The knife slid into her skin, it never hurt going in, but as it continued to slice the burning pain followed. Seraph bit her lip, the pleasure and the pain mixing together as Analiel caressed the knife down her back. After a few more slices that dragged across the bone, Seraph heard the knife clink down on the tray followed a moment later by the hollow sound of an aluminum baseball bat tapping against the concrete.
The blow came without warning, cracking across her spine so hard that she bit through the lip that was still between her teeth. Seraph barely stifled a cry as her mouth momentarily filled with blood. She swallowed it down and had to remember to control it, to not let herself bleed, Analiel told her after a while she wouldn’t have to think about it anymore. The next blow broke ribs and knocked her forward onto her face. The chains binding her bit deep into skin with the change in position but the hits didn’t stop.
When the darkness receded Seraph discovered Analiel knew nothing of mercy. She’d been left bound in chains, the smell of fear permeated the room and the pounding heart of a mortal came from the corner. She was so hungry her beast roared with need and Seraph fought against it trying to keep it in check as she struggled against her bonds. The chains were heavy and strong and bit into her skin as she pulled and fought them. The beat of the human’s heart filled her ears, calling to her, and she snarled as the world went red.
Blood covered her and filled her, it was glorious and revolting, as she lay in the remains of what had once been a person. The only thing more sickening was the pain of her dislocated hip and shoulder. The chains were still wrapped around one of her ankles and most of the skin was missing from a forearm. Dry heaves wracked through her and she choked up a piece of flesh.
She had no idea of what was sleep and what was blacking out, the healing of her wounds was the only way she knew that time passed at all. When the door opened, Ana was dressed in a frilly white dress, her blonde curls brushing her shoulders making her appear all sweet innocence and girl next door. The kick to Seraph’s ribs was anything but cute “are you nothing but a cow, I thought you were stronger than this Sarah.” Ana giggled “are you going to allow your weak human flesh to trap you or are you going to rise and be better than the herd?”
With that Seraph lunged at the cherubic woman, forgetting that her ankle was still bound and she went down with a thud as her femur popped back out of the socket. She howled with rage and fury, the beast trying again to take over. “Keep it in check or you’ll never get out of here, you have the ability to be a monster or to ascend to something higher.”
Ana put a booted heel on Seraph’s throat, slowly leaning her weight onto it as Seraph felt the pain build into complete agony and listened to the bones in her neck snap. She lay there, watching Ana bind her again in chains, not bothering to even fix the dislocated hip. Seraph felt the blood suffuse her skin and the pain became her world once again.
It started all over again, the cutting and the beating, the waking up in the remains of something that had once been a person. It kept going until Seraph managed to stay conscious through the beating. That night Analiel took off her chains and allowed her to feed without the beast taking over, it was like sweet ecstasy coursing through her veins and making her stronger.
The next night she was bound again and even though she remained conscious she wasn’t let go after. “You have proven to be tougher than the sheep, now you must be stronger. Feel the blood that I have given you and prove to me I made the right decision in saving you from death” Ana said with a cold smile.
Seraph was so tired of this, she was furious at the torture and humiliation, the beast rose and it was all she could do to hold it back. She shook with the anger and the effort and the blood rose inside her flowing into her muscles. The chain between her wrists snapped with a pull and she stood kicking her legs apart, the links tinkled across the stone floor.
Analiel’s look of surprise was the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen. Seraph took advantage of the moment and charged her sire, she was caught off guard by how quickly she moved and missed hitting Ana. That cost her the only shot she had, Ana spun and shoved her, using Seraph's own momentum to put her into the wall. She struck face first and spots swam in her vision.
By the time get vision cleared Ana had her knee in the tall woman's back and a fistful of hey hair. "That was not a trick I was expecting you to know, but that doesn't mean you can get the upper hand on me yet Childe."
The pressure on her back increased until she felt the agony of her spine being crushed and Seraph crashed to the ground. Ana knelt beside her and kissed her forehead gently, "continue to learn what this beautiful body of yours is capable of. Use the gifts that Caine has graced you with and become worthy of the blood."
Ana's touch suddenly turned into an agonizing searing pain as Seraph felt like her skin was on fire. She screamed as the doll faced woman beamed a smile at her and continued to stroke her hand lovingly down Seraph's chest. After an eternity Ana stopped and left her lying there, her eyes wide and her body burning.
As the door closed behind Ana, Seraph started giggling which turned into the cackle of insanity. Something inside her broke and snapped "it's all been a lie, everything is a lie, I’m an angel and Heaven is a FUCKING LIE!"
